Why Polarity Intelligence™?

Polarity Intelligence is the “missing logic” in leadership.

Problem-solving is the go-to approach for leaders no matter what challenge is before them. It is your leadership superpower. Your ability to problem solve is what helped you advance as a leader.

There are times when you face problems that won’t go away. The same challenge shows up repeatedly. The problem is not only repetitive, but it appears to be unsolvable. Why is that?

Because those kinds of problems you face are not actually problems, and they are not solvable.

The ongoing or repetitive, unsolvable problems you are experiencing are polarities.

Polarities represent interdependent pairs of values or points of view that appear to be opposite or contradictory but need each other over time to achieve a greater outcome, neither could achieve alone.

Polarities require us to apply both-and thinking. When you apply either-or thinking or problem-solving logic to a polarity, it becomes your Achilles’ heel, and you are destined over time to fail.

We are living in volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA) times. These conditions, challenges, and situations we all face as leaders and individuals require new ways of thinking, relating, and operating.

Problem-solving skills alone will not be enough. Without identifying the polarities present in these situations, conditions, and challenges, you may develop an incomplete picture and make false choices that lead to unintended consequences.

Simply knowing and understanding polarities and how they work is not enough, you must simultaneously build healthy relationships and engage in meaningful dialogue to reveal values and biases, move beyond the obvious, and leverage conflict, welcome diversity, and honor differences.

Polarity Mindset: The ability to differentiate between a problem and a polarity while understanding and leveraging the principles that govern polarities.

Healthy Relationships: Relationships that are intentional, soul connected, and centered on a shared purpose.

Meaningful Dialogue: Dialogue is a conversation between two or more people where the parties listen and share in a way that leads to deep understanding and shared meaning.

When you integrate the three skills you have a trifecta superpower!  Without all three skills and principles working together synergistically you will not experience the magnificent power of leading with Polarity Intelligence.
